First Look at the Newly-Renovated Rooms and Spaces of the Grand Hyatt Singapore - Reopening Soon?

The Grand Hyatt Singapore has been closed since 19 September 2022 for renovation and it appears that it will be reopening soon - photos of the newly-renovated rooms as well as restaurants have surfaced on the official hotel website and it looks drastically different from what it used to be.

Grand Hyatt Singapore gave away one million World of Hyatt points back in September 2023 through the Moments of More contest but now everyone is a winner with the newly-released photos of the rooms and public spaces.

Newly-Renovated Rooms and Suites

The property is expected to have a total of 699 guestrooms and suites and if you have stayed at the hotel before, you will remember the Deluxe Rooms that measure 52sqm in size - they also felt a lot more like a junior suite with its own separate living area. While the newly-renovated Deluxe Rooms will not be ready until 2025, it does appear that they are keeping the same room size which is a great news. At the time of writing, only the following room and suite types will be available this year when it reopens:

• King Bed/Twin Beds

• King/Twin Beds with Club Access

• King Bed Premium with Garden Access

• Terrace Suite

• Presidential Suite

Before the closure for renovation, Grand Hyatt Singapore used to have only 677 rooms and suites. They did not have garden- or terrace-access rooms and suites previously (not sold to the general public anyway) so this must be where the additional room and suite inventory is coming from.

If you are a World of Hyatt Globalist member, it appears that the Grand Suites are fashioned out the same rooms as the Deluxe Rooms as they have the same size (52sqm) but with a different layout, and likely located on a higher floor featuring a city view. Unfortunately, the Grand Suites, alongside the following room types, will not be available until 2025 but perhaps you might get lucky with a Terrace Suite upgrade if you stay this year:

• King/Twin Beds Deluxe

• King/Twin Beds Deluxe with Club Access

• King Bed Premium with Balcony

• Grand Suite King/Twin

• Grand Executive Suite

• Premier Suite

Wellness Garden

The waterfall in the middle of the Grand Hyatt Singapore was probably the most iconic feature in the hotel for me personally. A brand new wellness garden will be introduced to the property once it reopens and even though the available images online are only renders, they do look amazing and I cannot wait to see how it looks. Oasis used to be one of my favourite places to grab a steak or bite at in the evening and according to the new renders, it looks fantastic and I wonder if they will bring the Club at the Hyatt membership back once everything reopens.

In case you do not already know, Sergio Herman will be opening his first restaurant in Singapore, Le Pristine, at the Grand Hyatt Singapore's iconic mezzanine level - this space used to be occupied by mezza9. From the information available online, it does not seem like any of the previous F&B outlets will be replaced but if I am not mistaken, all of them will be spotting a new look once the hotel reopens, or when the restaurant is ready.

The reopening of the Grand Hyatt Singapore is a very much anticipated one - the hotel is located right in the heart of Orchard Road and it offers convenient access to the rest of Singapore via the MRT system.
